The Incogitable BHO 2010 Proposed Budget

If you thought the malversation of the Bush-43 administration was unbelievable, the BHO and SMDC are going to continue this practice with their deficit busting almost $4 Trillion 2010 budget! The sheer incredulous nature of a four trillion dollar exceeds the mental grasp of most people since spending this amount of money let alone paying for it sends the mind into a quivering fetal position.

This proposed budget which will sail through the SMDC without much debate or public inspection will only balloon the public's inability to deal with these size numbers since "95% of taxpayers will not see one dime of increase it their taxes..." The largest block of voting citizens -- those hoping to get the 95% treatment -- ignore these numbers living under the false impression that only the top 5% will pay for these outlandish budget demands. So sad, so typical, so American...

The FY 2010 budget is so filled with socialized program expansion it would seem that America now believes that BHO and the SMDC can and will take care of them from "cradle to first day of college..." In other words, they are now getting accustomed to the taste of the lactating nanny state.

As I said in my previous posts: America, you voted for this, and now you get to live with it. Such unimaginable explosions in government spending and tax levies can not but alter the American culture beyond return to reason. This year's budget alone is over 400 times the entire US GDP (total economic output or production) during the time the founding father's were arguing over the growth and control of centralized federal government. Wouldn't they be flabbergasted by the size of next year's proposed budget?

Yes, the numbers are correct: 400 times the entire country's output not the colonial budget. I am using the country's GDP (gross domestic output) to compare it to this year's US government budget. It is more than the entire Global GDP for 1946! Totally incredulous and incogitable.

Even Republicans now calling for socialization of USA!

To hear that Republicans like Senator Lindsey Graham who sits on the Senate Budget Committee, Fed Chair Ben Bernanke, and even Former Fed Chair Alan Greenspan are all saying that the nationalizing of banks in the US is not out of the question, I have to sit, take a deep breath, and wonder if the USSA is not already a reality!

I  never expected to see the speed with which the USA is being altered to become a European-styled socialistic concern: nationalizing banks, universal health care, government ownership of mortgages, bail-out and control of huge industries like the auto, airline, steel, etc, control of educational institutions, and loss of secret balloting in union choices. These moves many of which parallel the European countries of the EU are quickly becoming the norm in the USA, and why most people are not even aware of their enactment is beyond me.

Will US citizens wake up when they find that they are told when, where, and how to work, live, or make purchases, or will the more towards "bread and circus" be to addictive? Will our children vote themselves rebate checks, mortgage give-backs, credit card eliminations or 2 months of annual vacation like European-style socialist countries have? Is it too late for the USA to stop the morphing to the USSA?

For one baby-boomer, I believe it is. I think with the debt now being told we must assume for social engineering programs it has become too late since the benefactors of these programs significantly out number the producers from which the benefits are taken. Remember the warning about socialism:

Socialism stops working when you run out those that produce from which you take to give to those that don't.

We may be close to that situation since "why work when you can get as much as those that do."

True case study as foreclosure cessation begins

With the passage of the ARRA 2009 and all the financial chaos that will ensue, BHO now turns his attention toward wrecking the home mortgage market as well.

Why do I say this? BHO is proposing a government bail-out of "negative-equity homeowners" or people who overpaid for their homes and now owe more than their homes are worth. Now this sounds very compassionate, very magnanimous, very liberal by its intentions; however, by now you are aware that every time the government involves itself in the private sector there are LOUC (law of unintentional consequences) to pay.

What will the LOUC be in this seemingly "good intentioned" concept of helping those with homes on the brink of foreclosure? To accomplish this let's virtualize our perspective by going to an imaginary neighborhood in any suburban area say in Florida, Texas Gulf coast, or California. There are 3 homes in a cluster in a very quiet cul-de-sac; all the homes are similar is size, style, and value. The differences start when the houses were last put on the market and purchased by the Jones, the Smiths, and the Browns. All three homes have mortgages, but with different terms and current balances. Let's detail...

The Jones purchased their home for $205,000 with 10% down when the sub-division first opened for sale over 10 years ago. Ed Jones, an civil engineer, his wife Jill, and 3 children have lived in this home watching the neighborhood grow, change, and increase in value. Their mortgage is now going on 11 years for $180,000.00 balance at 7% fixed for 30 years. Ed's monthly payment is $1,800.00 including PITI.

The Smiths purchased their home 6 years ago with original terms of $250,000 with 5% down at 6.5% 30 fixed, but 3 years ago the Smiths refinanced their home for $250,000 on an ARM of 3.5% for 3 years, and then escalation of 1.5%/year maximum for 4 years with a cap of 9.5%. Tom Smith's current payment is now just moved to 5% for a monthly PITI of $2,000.00.

Finally, the Browns purchased their home 2 1/2 years ago on a teaser, interest-only rate of 3% on $300,000 and 0 down with a readjustment period to an ARM including PITI 3 years from origination beginning at 5% with an annual ramp-up of 1.5% to a maximum of 10%. George Brown's current monthly payment is $1,975.00 ITI, but will reset to $2,750.00 next month.

Here is the situation, the Brown's are now 2 months late on their mortgage since George sees he will not be able to make the new mortgage payment so he decided to let it go since all the houses have now lost almost 30% of their value and his house is now going NE (negative-equity). The Smith's home is at parity (home value worth mortgage), and the Jones' are happily making their mortgage payments after 10 years.

Obama steps in with his mortgage-support plan, and the following happens: the Smiths see that if they are 60 days late on their mortgage they will be eligible for assistance so they cancel the check they just sent to the mortgage processor so they are effectively 30 days late and get in under the wire. Now the Jones who have paid on their mortgage for 10 years are the lone current mortgagor and the only of the 3 to get nothing while his neighbors get assistance coming from Ed's taxes.

The final atrocity is that Ed Jones loses his job, and due to equity in his home, his mortgagee immediately begins foreclosure proceedings, but Ed is not eligible for government assistance since was current on his loan, is PE (positive-equity) profiled, and did not take out a "funny loan" on his house. Ed loses his house while the Smiths and Browns are bailed out with taxpayer monies, but the Browns are going to re-default in 12 months since they couldn't afford their homes anyway.

Sound like fantasy? This is a true case taken from a Columbus, Ohio bank records (names changed) that began about 6 months ago. The Jones who did what the system considered right and morale are the ones penalized while those that took advantage were rewarded with Ed's tax monies.

Only in America could this abomination occur. So what will be the LOUCs of BHO's foreclosure cessation/hiatus be?

    1. A sharp increase in the number of foreclosures as "the Smith's get in under the wire."
    2. Angry "Jones" as they fall outside the assistance envelope.
    3. Delayed clearing of housing inventory as "the Browns" re-default 12 months later.
    4. Recession lingers as the problem of markets clearing is prevented.

BHO is quickly moving towards becoming the new-FDR, not the new-JFK who cut taxes as history has shown. JFK cut marginal tax rates; he did not send out tax rebates to non-taxpaying voters.

Advice to all entreprenuers and SMB owners

I for one have now learned that America is no longer entrepreneurial-friendly and will not attempt to build a business that employs other Americans. I will take my place on the employee-side of the equation, do my daily labors, pay my minimal taxes for now, apply for and accept all government assistance for which I am eligible, and in short, become a good socialist. I do not want the headaches of being a capitalist or innovator or small-business person under these new conditions. What time I have left is going to more productive spending it with my family, and friends, and not jousting at windmills.

My advice to SMB owners all over the country is the same: sell while you can, get what you can for your business, and then take a non-managerial position and use the profits of your business to supplement your income while spending your time with family and just enjoying life. Let the government provide you with extra spending money in the form of "stimulus checks" and EIC (earned income credit) while you ensure your income is below the levels which make you eligible for these hand-outs.

Is this a defeatist mindset? Am I advocating "giving up?" No! I am just suggesting that in this environment of big government, spending and growing centralization, SMB ownership is not a good use of one's time or effort. Maybe in the future it will change, but do not plague yourself with increasing time and effort wasted to make it as a business owner providing employment for an increasingly shrill employee-base bent on demanding the same benefits and perks that you get for being a risk taker. Close your business, fire your employees, and work for minimum wage and come home each night knowing that you are now a "good cog in the socialist framework" of the future USSA.

The USA is now unable to right itself, and to continue to fight against the prevailing wind is only a waste of time and effort. Like many SMB (small-medium sized business) owners, we will let the government control the economy along with its "too big to fail" corporations. Working just to give over 60% back to the government just does not seem a prudent expenditure of time and effort. I want to spend time prudently and now its time to rethink how entrepreneurial effort will be valued in the USSA.

I will soon be going to spend time as an apprentice with an Amish family in central Ohio; to learn the concepts of "non-powered" carpentry, living from and on the land, and in condensation, simplifying my life from the high tech, high finance drudgery it has been. I am going to reduce "my void" as I call it (see my personal blog on fixing yourself : http://youcanbefixed.blogspot.com ) for more information on the concept of the personal void.

Predictions for the USA under Stimulus 2009

My prediction on the ARRA 2009, or Obamilus 2009 as I call it, will be that it will cause the country to slip further into economic depressive profiles, but the White House and Congressional leadership will find a way to blame the Republicans paving the way for more such overreaching bills in the future. The USA is truly becoming the USSA before our eyes much more quickly than even I could have envisioned.

America, you will now get what you voted for, and I hope its what you wanted. I am not angry at those that voted for BHO and his now-Republican supported SMDC. The democratic process worked in the election of 2008, and I accept that reality. What I will not accept is the direction and manner in which the SMDC and BHO are taking and using to get their agenda pushed into place.

Why can't the BHO administration and SMDC adhere to the normal process of appropriations creation, hearings, public comment, and debate before passage of the largest spending bill in the history of the world? What are they afraid of? What is in this now soon-to-be law that would scare the public if the light of day were to shine on it? Why did they want to print it in the dead of night, limit debate to a mere 12 hours on over 1000 pages of sometime hand-written changes, non-computerized non-searchable document releases, and then chastise the opposition for opposing it? When legislation is accomplished in this manner, it makes me leery of the content and outcome.

However, I am not one for crying over the proverbial "spilt milk." BHO and his SMDC have the votes to pass anything they want, they have, and they did. Fait Accompli! Jousting at windmills is a poor use of my limited time.

Spending the most precious commodity of time wisely is what pre-occupies my time and thoughts in an environment hostile to personal achievement. Future generations will have to right this ship of state since I do not believe America can be fixed, and my time is better spent elsewhere.

I will blog occasionally as the spirit leads, but I am not going to spend more blogging time on my personal efforts blog (http://youcanbefixed.blogspot.com) chronicling my journey towards helping myself and others deal with a different country and the impact it will have on our collective futures.

See you over there.

BHO's Stimulus 2009 has passed!

Based on a complete lack of legislative integrity, the SMDC (with the help of 3 Republican Senators) passed an over 1000 page so-called stimulus bill that will now become law upon the signature of BHO. The only saving grace in this fiasco was that one party almost completely spurned its enactment. Now time will tell who is right, and who gets blamed.

Those that support this emergency spending bill will have to explain why it did not provide for infrastructure, stimulus, and job creation when it falls flat on its face over the next 12-18 months. The CBO (Congressional Budget Office) says that its a boondoggle and over 75% of its expenditures will not occur until 2010-2019 fiscal years! This is NOT stimulative, but as Mr. Emanuel stated:

"“Rule one: Never allow a crisis to go to waste, they are opportunities to do big things.”

Should it shock anyone that BHO is now making the crisis the solution in order to do things that his administration would never be able to do without fighting for each appropriation in the normal course of Congressional process? Probably not since it was sold under the banner of an "emergency spending" provision which short-circuits the normal debate and hearings procedures. Is this not wasting a good crisis?

Add to that the Bush-43 assistance in this matter which gave the BHO and the SMDC the excuse for cover by saying "they started it!", and we have the makings of a complete breakdown of normal governmental checks and balances. Jefferson warned about the dangers of public debt, and it appears from the annals of our history, he is becoming quite the sage.

Between the "unholy three: BHO, Pelosi, and Reid", and the SMDC including the 3 Republican senatorial turn-coats (Spector, Snowe, and Collins) will now have to deal with the success or failure of this spending bill. They can not blame anyone but themselves since Republicans almost to the last person voted against it. Again, I hope it will fail since its success will complete the process of turning the USA into the USSA -- something that I can not agree nor support.

Another Hollywood celebrity speaks and embarrasses himself

Upon watching Mr. Richard Belzer's performance on the Hannity show last night, I again am reminded by allowing such Hollywood so-called intellectuals as Mr. Belzer another venue for his uninformed opinions shows how little self-respect we have for truly smart people.

Mr. Belzer repeated several times that he was Jeffersonian in his beliefs, blah blah blah, yaddah yaddah, yaddah... He completely misunderstands his "hero" in that Thomas Jefferson was one of the most ardent opponents to forcing people to support projects based on principles then did not believe in.  In his own words, Mr. Jefferson stated:

"To compel a man to furnish contributions of money for the propagation of opinions which he disbelieves and abhors, is sinful and tyrannical."

If Mr. Belzer had done his homework which very few Hollywood types do, he would have chosen not to use Jefferson has his statue of "free-thinking liberalism" since he clearly shows he knows very little of how the real Jefferson thought about an intruding government.

If this bill does nothing else, it does exactly what Jefferson warned about in the above quotation. Mr. Belzer would be more respected as someone to listen to if he did a little bit of research, and not rely mostly on his glib, polished TV persona.

Wake up, people, why listen to anyone that claims as their right to address the American people that they are Hollywood celebrities. These people are absolute clueless about what is best for the country; they have morphed into "citizens of the world" since much of their revenues is now generated overseas. They want a weak US so they can travel the world without feeling they have to apologize for their country. Be strong, Mr. Belzer, have character and be willing to admit you are a closet socialist.

And, by the way, only market-driven economies based on fiscal conservative principles have survived the collective natures of socialism. Please do your own homework.

Where is the USA on the "cycle of nations?"

Having been asked this question many times, I will now attempt to answer it so that this blog can move forward into the problems it is attempting to highlight about the current USA and its most likely forward progress.

Without exception the founding fathers were most timid about the possibility of putting into place an institution of government that would ultimately grow to become as ominous as the regal despot they had just fought to remove from their lives. Thomas Jefferson was the most vocal opponent of a growing federalism and the private intrusion to which it would be the catalyst.

Mr. Jefferson was particularly insistent that once the republic's citizenry found a way to vote themselves money, it would mark the end of the republic. He raised this issue in a letter to a Mr. William Plumer, dated July 21, 1816, where Jefferson bemoaned:

"I, however, place economy among the first and most important republican virtues, and public debt as the greatest of the dangers to be feared."

Jefferson was aware that public debt would be the quickest method to end the republic along with its virtues and capabilities. One of his co-revolutionist, Ben Franklin wrote,

“When the people find that they can vote themselves money, that will herald the end of the republic.”

The 16th-17th amendments to the US Constitution began this move towards the "populist raiding" of the US Treasury. I suggest that you do your own homework about these amendments.

We are living in the times where the 18th century political philosopher, Alexander Tyler postulated that every nation goes through a cycle of 9 circular stages: bondage --> spiritual faith --> courage --> liberty --> abundance --> selfishness --> complacency --> apathy --> dependence --> back to bondage.

Can you guess where the USA is on this circle? I can...

A letter from a US boss to his employees

I saw this little "temper tantrum" missive from a fictitious boss to his employees. While I doubt if it was written by a real employer to his employees since it is too well written, it, however, is very appropriate given the passage of the $800 Billion "stimulus 2009" bill that not one of the Congress people who voted in favor of it READ! TJ's (that's Thomas Jefferson) words about when the republic would end are never more apropos. Enjoy it as I did.

To All My Valued Employees,
There have been some rumblings around the office about the future of this company, and more specifically, your job. As you know, the economy has changed for the worse and presents many challenges. However, the good news is this: The economy doesn’t pose a threat to your job. What does threaten your job however, is the changing political landscape in this country. However, let me tell you some little tidbits of fact which might help you decide what is in your best interests.

First, while it is easy to spew rhetoric that casts employers against employees, you have to understand that for every business owner there is a Back Story. This back story is often neglected and overshadowed by what you see and hear. Sure, you see me park my Mercedes outside. You’ve seen my big home at last years Christmas party. I’m sure; all these flashy icons of luxury conjure up some idealized thoughts about my life.

However, what you don’t see is the BACK STORY: I started this company 28 years ago. At that time, I lived in a 300 square foot studio apartment for 3 years. My entire living apartment was converted into an office so I could put forth 100% effort into building a company, which by the way, would eventually employ you. My diet consisted of Ramen Pride noodles because every dollar I spent went back into this company. I drove a rusty Toyota Corolla with a defective transmission. I didn’t have time to date. Often times, I stayed home on weekends, while my friends went out drinking and partying.

In fact, I was married to my business: hard work, discipline, and sacrifice. Meanwhile, my friends got jobs. They worked 40 hours a week and made a modest $50K a year and spent every dime they earned. They drove flashy cars and lived in expensive homes and wore fancy designer clothes. Instead of hitting the Nordstrom’s for the latest hot fashion item, I was trolling through the discount store extracting any clothing item that didn’t look like it was birthed in the 70’s. My friends refinanced their mortgages and lived a life of luxury. I, however, did not. I put my time, my money, and my life into a business with a vision that eventually, some day, I too, will be able to afford these luxuries my friends supposedly had.

So, while you physically arrive at the office at 9am, mentally check in at about noon, and then leave at 5pm, I don’t. There is no “off” button for me. When you leave the office, you are done and you have a weekend all to yourself. I unfortunately do not have the freedom. I eat, and breathe this company every minute of the day. There is no rest. There is no weekend. There is no happy hour. Every day this business is attached to my hip like a 1 year old special-needs child. You, of course, only see the fruits of that garden — the nice house, the Mercedes, the vacations… you never realize the Back Story and the sacrifices I’ve made.

Now, the economy is falling apart and I, the guy that made all the right decisions and saved his money, have to bail-out all the people who didn’t. The people that overspent their paychecks suddenly feel entitled to the same luxuries that I earned and sacrificed a decade of my life for. Yes, business ownership has its benefits but the price I’ve paid is steep and not without wounds. Unfortunately, the cost of running this business, and employing you, is starting to eclipse the threshold of marginal benefit and let me tell you why: I am being taxed to death and the government thinks I don’t pay enough. I have state taxes. Federal taxes. Property taxes. Sales and use taxes. Payroll taxes. Workers compensation taxes. Unemployment taxes. Taxes on taxes. I have to hire a tax man to manage all these taxes and then guess what? I have to pay taxes for employing him. Government mandates and regulations and all the accounting that goes with it, now occupy most of my time.

On Oct 15th, I wrote a check to the US Treasury for $288,000 for quarterly taxes. You know what my “stimulus” check was? Zero. Nada. Zilch.  The question I have is this: Who is stimulating the economy? Me, the guy who has provided 14 people good paying jobs with a flourishing business? Or, the single mother sitting at home pregnant with her fourth child waiting for her next welfare check? Obviously, government feels the latter is the economic stimulus of this country.

The fact is, if I deducted (Read: Stole) 50% of your paycheck you’d quit  and you wouldn’t work here. I mean, why should you? That’s nuts. Who wants to get rewarded only 50% of their hard work? Well, I agree which is why your job is in jeopardy. Here is what many of you don’t understand: to stimulate the economy you need to stimulate what runs the economy.

Had suddenly the government mandated to me that I didn’t need to pay taxes, guess what? Instead of depositing that $288,000 into the Washington black-hole, I would have spent it, hired more employees, and generated substantial economic growth. My employees would have enjoyed the wealth of that tax cut in the form of promotions and better salaries. But you can forget it now.

When you have a comatose man on the verge of death, you don’t defibrillate and shock his thumb thinking that will bring him back to life, do you? Or, do you defibrillate his heart? Business is at the heart of America and always has been. To restart it, you must stimulate it, not kill it. Suddenly, the power brokers in Washington believe the poor of America are the essential drivers of the American economic engine. Nothing could be further from the truth and this is the type of change you can keep.

So where am I going with all this? It’s quite simple. If any new taxes are levied on me, or my company, my reaction will be swift and simple. I fire you. I fire your co-workers. You can then plead with the government to pay for your mortgage, your SUV, and your child’s future. Frankly, it isn’t my problem any more. Then, I will close this company down, move to another country, and retire.

You see, I’m done. I’m done with a country that penalizes the productive and gives to the unproductive. My motivation to work and to provide jobs will be destroyed, and with it, will be my citizenship. So, if you lose your job, it won’t be at the hands of the economy; it will be at the hands of a political hurricane that swept through this country, steamrolled the constitution, and will have changed its landscape forever. If that happens, you can find me sitting on a beach, retired, and with no employees to worry about…. Signed, THE BOSS

What the future holds for the USA-USSA

As I am made aware of this abomination called the "American Recovery & Reinvestment Act of 2009" or HR-1 or "Stimulus 2009", or any other of several monikers you may prefer, I am beginning to realize that this Congress and White House are going to take the country on a similar post-1929 journey resulting in similar outcomes. The country will move deeper and deeper into a recession that will give way to a depression with double digit unemployment, high GDP contraction, trade repercussions, all compounded by at first deflation and then hyper-inflation due to the monetization of the spending now being called "Stimulus."

The big difference with 1929-1932 is that we are doing this over the period of months instead of years. The collapse will begin with the drying up of the foreign purchase of US debt as China, Japan, and Arabia lose interest in our debt instruments. Without the ability to sell our debt, the FRS (Federal Reserve System) will have to begin eating its own debt offerings. This is similar to a dog eating its own feces-- a malady called "coprophagy" (sorry about the analogy, but its the best I could provide to show the complete lack of financial responsibility of the US Government).

Sooner or later the taste or our own debt will sour the appetite of even the Fed and this house of proverbial cards will come down catapulting the recession into a full-blown depression, but this time, the US Government will have used all its bullets and the US will enter the same "lost decade" that plagued the Japanese during the 1990's.

With the passage of this "Stimulus 2009" bill, the future of the US will be sealed as the real purpose of this spending/payback bill will become known thereby completely dissolving any trust the US population has in its government. If the depression become deep enough, it could lead to the 2nd American Revolution as the government and the governed cross swords.

Many don't believe it will come to this, but when people lose hope followed by the ever increasing inability to support their families, the subsequent "21st century Boston Tea Party" will occur followed by the population's physical repudiation of the government's ineffectiveness and incompetence.

It will not be just the Democrats that will suffer this attention, but Republicans as well since it was the Republicans that began this malaise under the inept direction of Bush-43; however, BHO and his SMDC will have to take their share of the blame as their actions, like FDR's, only served to increase the severity of Hoover's post-1929 policies.

Sorry to describe the future of the US, but its probably now 75/25 that the above scenario will play out over the next few years. Pass this on to your friends, family, and acquaintances. Only by knowing what will likely happen can one be prepared to survive this reality.

Why I want the Democrats to fail

As we begin this new evolution of the USA towards the USSA (United Socialists States of America), one has to ask himself if this metamorphosis is what he wants for his country, and if not, what can he do about it? In a democracy the majority, now the liberal/socialists, have the ability to control the direction of this country for at least the next 2 years putting into action their agenda and policies. How far will they be able to move, how far will they be able to implement their agenda depends on those that disagree with these policies.

Remember our founding fathers warned us of these exact problems.

"Government is not reason; it is not eloquent; it is force. Like fire, it is a dangerous servant and a fearful master." George Washington.

"When the people find they can vote themselves money, that will herald the end of the republic." Benjamin Franklin

Thomas Jefferson's many quotations about the "tyranny over the mind's of men..." show his feelings towards government gaining too much control over "the people."

However, be careful when trying to decide just who is the people, and wh witho speaks for the people. This can be the point where the State tries to usurp control via this cry, "I am the people..." To this end, the 19th century legal philosopher and writer, Lysander Spooner, stated,

"State is the name of the coldest of all cold monsters. Coldly it lies; and this lie slips from its mouth: "I, the state, am the people." Lysander Spooner

It's no wonder that Mr. Spooner's writings are banned in China.

So since BHO stated rather emphatically, "I won. So I think on that one, I trump you." This pretty much states his position on how he intends to govern, and that's why I can say that BHO is NOT my President, and I don't wish him to succeed since if he does, it will not be my country when he is done with it.

Universal health care starts with Stimulus 2009

Last year I blogged about the 10 issues that BHO and the SMDC would move to accomplish in order to move the country into a more socialistic model, and now its time to inspect the actions taken in these early days of this liberal administration. First, to refresh your memory, here is the list of the 10 items from last year.

Tucked into the recently US Senate amended HR-1 "Stimulus Bill" is the creation of a "health czar" that will make sure the government's policies are being protected first by setting up the initial requirement for socialized medicine:

the creation of a government run medical records database for "every person in the United States" (see pg 244 of the Senate amended HR-1)

This database will begin the initial reach of the government into the control of medical decisions for "every person in the United States". Also notice that it says, "every person in the United States" not "every citizen..." This paves the way for universal health care for everyone not just citizens.

So we have now the initial steps of Issue #1 being put into place.

Predictions of 2009 movement towards socialistic formations

Sorry I have been pre-occupied with other things going on in my life to worry about what is going on in Washington DC since it appears that BHO will get what he wants and we will just have to hope that it work out for the best.

As someone that believes in "The Creator" since believing in Darwinism, the Big Bang, and Atheism is just plain silly due to the amount of "suspension of disbelief" necessary to accept these theories, I am prepared to allow the Divinity His way with the history of our world. It is the one thing that prevents me from really being depressed over how our country has moved from a force for good towards a whimper for "the so-so."

BHO and his SMDC will only be allowed to go so far before the citizenry understands that trading freedoms for government intervention in all aspects of their lives is not worth the value received. It may take some time, and it may not be reversible, but it will happen unless one event occurs: the majority of the American voting public is living off the backs of the wealthier minority. If or when this occurs, the country will slow sink into socialism and finally 3rd world status since it can only sustain an innovative and vibrant economy when everyone is working and carrying their share of the financial burdens demanded of a capitalistic-based economy.

No socialistic (the economic infrastructure) of Fascism, Communism, and Marxism (the political part of the equation) has survived without major political change whereby the personal freedoms of those being governed are subordinated to the best interest of the government. There will be small factions of resistance to these changes, but it will be the financial crisis that finally puts a nail in the coffin of the American dream.

Unions will continue to demand their "unsustainable" wage and benefit profiles especially the government employees unions that will bankrupt state after state, municipality after municipality, and city after city with their every increasing piece of the taxpayer treasury. When the local and state governments are over whelmed, they will seek increasing federal participation (with strings attached of course) to the point where those in Kansas will be paying for the mistakes in California and New York.

Liberal welfare programs will continue to addict the non-tax paying portion of the population to a point of demanding more and more government payments from a dwindling tax-paying minority to where innovation, entrepreneurship, and growth are stopped as is the case in all socialistic-oriented economies. Those that are working finally realize that it's not worth the effort to be innovative when the government is going to take 70-80% to pay for those that just vote for their welfare and transfer payments. Once this transformation takes place, the federal government has to take over and become "the state." Whether the government becomes Fascist, Communistic, or Marxist is simply a matter of who is power when the population finally gives up.

Here's the most likely outcome: if liberals are in power at "tipping point", then the government is very likely to become a form of Communism-light based on atheism, and total government control in the form of centralized planning. If conservatives are in power at TP (tipping point), then the government will most likely become Fascist since Fascism combines the government with big business to run the state. Finally, a combination of the two would likely produce a more Marxist form of government that takes the central planning of Communism with the elevation of the state to the only political entity while allowing some personal freedoms in religion and thinking.

Just some thoughts to begin your 2009 with during this period of major changes. Watch for two things that are already beginning to occur: the removal of the secret ballot in unionization events, and the increase spending of the federal government to cover all areas of public and personal life. These 2 events will signal the move towards the collapse of the capitalistic, free-market operation of the US economy, a prolonged recession into 2010-2011, and an increased demand for federal government intervention in every increasing areas of what was once private matters.

More later.
