Faster move towards the USSA

Progress towards the USSA is proceeding faster than even I expected as the team of BHO and the SMDC now with Senators Kennedy and soon to be seated Senator Franken take even the threat of a Republican filibuster is vanquished thus setting the stage for a far-left liberal run as the political prize: re-gauging of America from a center-right to a left leaning political entity.

 

It now appears that there remains nothing between the unholy trio of BHO, Speaker Pelosi, and Majority Leader Reid and their prize of reforming the USA into the USSA during BHO's first term. The outside chance that the 2010 election will turn on the economy if it remains in the doldrums may be the only way that the power of the liberal Congress be broken as the voters experience more pain from the out of control spending by the 111th Congress.

 

The players in this little tragedy are going to continue unimpeded towards their goals without giving the impact on the future of the USA's capitalistic status that was first attacked during the Bush-43 wanning days in power. The current administration is only taking the prize it was given and running with it towards their intended end-game.

 

While many of the conservative, libertarian, and religious-right talk show hosts are trying to stem this tide, it is an already a fait accompli. There is nothing that can be done since it appears that the BHO/SMDC partnership is only worried about getting their agenda in place and passed regardless of the how slim or angry the American voters become as they watch the USA slide into the USSA. They believe that once the legislation is in place (cap&trade, nationalized health care, government-owned banks, unchecked unionism, trillion dollar deficits and budgets) the American population will not have the will to change it.

 

Remember Ben Franklin's warning about the end of the country comes when the voters realize they can vote themselves money from the public treasury. This is not a partisan issue, but a political class power grab, pure and simple.

 

 

The next US revolution is fomenting!

No, you say? The next USA revolution is forming in the back alleys, small towns, discussed in hushed terms around kitchen tables in homes all across the country. The county is being torn apart by those in power and those that want to be. The blues and reds are bringing the country closer to a flash point as they cease to do the "people's business" and continue to do their own.

 

The current administration says one thing and does another; continues to blame its predecessor for everything and fails to understand what is important to the "bread and butter" population while trying to do "political paybacks" buried in the Stimulus 2009 and the recent, pungent Omnibus Bill with over 8900 earmarks on both sides of the isle.

 

"Taxation without representation" has been replaced by "taxation by representation!"

 

Our elected officials have completely lost touch with the common citizen so where they disavow they even are beholding to them. The arrogance, the hypocrisy, the complete lack of sensitivity of Congressional members of either party continue to anger and alienate their voters. So why isn't anything being done to remedy this action?

 

"So goes California, so goes the country," is a common sayings in political and economic circles,  and if that is true, then we are in truly seeing where the revolution will begin. Take for example the CA Supreme Court's review of the 3rd referendum of the CA voters to disallow "same sex marriages." What is amazing is that they are even reviewing it! The CA voters have said three times now, "marriage is to be defined as a civil union between 1 man and 1 woman," but the CA activist jurists seem to believe they have the right to pass this action under their biased review.

 

Now it is being argued by the proponents of the "same sex marriage" movement that the citizens of CA DON'T HAVE THE RIGHT TO CHANGE THEIR OWN CONSTITUTION!" If the CASC strikes down the 3rd voters referendum, it will be the spark that begins the next revolution. It will begin in CA, spread to other states where voters are seeing their control over the government being reduced by the "new ruling political class" regardless of party affiliation. It is going to be them against us.

 

Even Republicans now calling for socialization of USA!

To hear that Republicans like Senator Lindsey Graham who sits on the Senate Budget Committee, Fed Chair Ben Bernanke, and even Former Fed Chair Alan Greenspan are all saying that the nationalizing of banks in the US is not out of the question, I have to sit, take a deep breath, and wonder if the USSA is not already a reality!

 

I  never expected to see the speed with which the USA is being altered to become a European-styled socialistic concern: nationalizing banks, universal health care, government ownership of mortgages, bail-out and control of huge industries like the auto, airline, steel, etc, control of educational institutions, and loss of secret balloting in union choices. These moves many of which parallel the European countries of the EU are quickly becoming the norm in the USA, and why most people are not even aware of their enactment is beyond me.

 

Will US citizens wake up when they find that they are told when, where, and how to work, live, or make purchases, or will the more towards "bread and circus" be to addictive? Will our children vote themselves rebate checks, mortgage give-backs, credit card eliminations or 2 months of annual vacation like European-style socialist countries have? Is it too late for the USA to stop the morphing to the USSA?

 

For one baby-boomer, I believe it is. I think with the debt now being told we must assume for social engineering programs it has become too late since the benefactors of these programs significantly out number the producers from which the benefits are taken. Remember the warning about socialism:

 

Socialism stops working when you run out those that produce from which you take to give to those that don't.

 

We may be close to that situation since "why work when you can get as much as those that do."

 

Another Hollywood celebrity speaks and embarrasses himself

Upon watching Mr. Richard Belzer's performance on the Hannity show last night, I again am reminded by allowing such Hollywood so-called intellectuals as Mr. Belzer another venue for his uninformed opinions shows how little self-respect we have for truly smart people.

 

Mr. Belzer repeated several times that he was Jeffersonian in his beliefs, blah blah blah, yaddah yaddah, yaddah... He completely misunderstands his "hero" in that Thomas Jefferson was one of the most ardent opponents to forcing people to support projects based on principles then did not believe in.  In his own words, Mr. Jefferson stated:

 

"To compel a man to furnish contributions of money for the propagation of opinions which he disbelieves and abhors, is sinful and tyrannical."

If Mr. Belzer had done his homework which very few Hollywood types do, he would have chosen not to use Jefferson has his statue of "free-thinking liberalism" since he clearly shows he knows very little of how the real Jefferson thought about an intruding government.

 

If this bill does nothing else, it does exactly what Jefferson warned about in the above quotation. Mr. Belzer would be more respected as someone to listen to if he did a little bit of research, and not rely mostly on his glib, polished TV persona.

 

Wake up, people, why listen to anyone that claims as their right to address the American people that they are Hollywood celebrities. These people are absolute clueless about what is best for the country; they have morphed into "citizens of the world" since much of their revenues is now generated overseas. They want a weak US so they can travel the world without feeling they have to apologize for their country. Be strong, Mr. Belzer, have character and be willing to admit you are a closet socialist.

 

And, by the way, only market-driven economies based on fiscal conservative principles have survived the collective natures of socialism. Please do your own homework.

 

 

 

A letter from a US boss to his employees

I saw this little "temper tantrum" missive from a fictitious boss to his employees. While I doubt if it was written by a real employer to his employees since it is too well written, it, however, is very appropriate given the passage of the $800 Billion "stimulus 2009" bill that not one of the Congress people who voted in favor of it READ! TJ's (that's Thomas Jefferson) words about when the republic would end are never more apropos. Enjoy it as I did.

To All My Valued Employees,

There have been some rumblings around the office about the future of this company, and more specifically, your job. As you know, the economy has changed for the worse and presents many challenges. However, the good news is this: The economy doesn’t pose a threat to your job. What does threaten your job however, is the changing political landscape in this country. However, let me tell you some little tidbits of fact which might help you decide what is in your best interests.

 First, while it is easy to spew rhetoric that casts employers against employees, you have to understand that for every business owner there is a Back Story. This back story is often neglected and overshadowed by what you see and hear. Sure, you see me park my Mercedes outside. You’ve seen my big home at last years Christmas party. I’m sure; all these flashy icons of luxury conjure up some idealized thoughts about my life.

However, what you don’t see is the BACK STORY: I started this company 28 years ago. At that time, I lived in a 300 square foot studio apartment for 3 years. My entire living apartment was converted into an office so I could put forth 100% effort into building a company, which by the way, would eventually employ you. My diet consisted of Ramen Pride noodles because every dollar I spent went back into this company. I drove a rusty Toyota Corolla with a defective transmission. I didn’t have time to date. Often times, I stayed home on weekends, while my friends went out drinking and partying.

In fact, I was married to my business: hard work, discipline, and sacrifice. Meanwhile, my friends got jobs. They worked 40 hours a week and made a modest $50K a year and spent every dime they earned. They drove flashy cars and lived in expensive homes and wore fancy designer clothes. Instead of hitting the Nordstrom’s for the latest hot fashion item, I was trolling through the discount store extracting any clothing item that didn’t look like it was birthed in the 70’s. My friends refinanced their mortgages and lived a life of luxury. I, however, did not. I put my time, my money, and my life into a business with a vision that eventually, some day, I too, will be able to afford these luxuries my friends supposedly had.

So, while you physically arrive at the office at 9am, mentally check in at about noon, and then leave at 5pm, I don’t. There is no “off” button for me. When you leave the office, you are done and you have a weekend all to yourself. I unfortunately do not have the freedom. I eat, and breathe this company every minute of the day. There is no rest. There is no weekend. There is no happy hour. Every day this business is attached to my hip like a 1 year old special-needs child. You, of course, only see the fruits of that garden — the nice house, the Mercedes, the vacations… you never realize the Back Story and the sacrifices I’ve made.

Now, the economy is falling apart and I, the guy that made all the right decisions and saved his money, have to bail-out all the people who didn’t. The people that overspent their paychecks suddenly feel entitled to the same luxuries that I earned and sacrificed a decade of my life for. Yes, business ownership has its benefits but the price I’ve paid is steep and not without wounds. Unfortunately, the cost of running this business, and employing you, is starting to eclipse the threshold of marginal benefit and let me tell you why: I am being taxed to death and the government thinks I don’t pay enough. I have state taxes. Federal taxes. Property taxes. Sales and use taxes. Payroll taxes. Workers compensation taxes. Unemployment taxes. Taxes on taxes. I have to hire a tax man to manage all these taxes and then guess what? I have to pay taxes for employing him. Government mandates and regulations and all the accounting that goes with it, now occupy most of my time.

On Oct 15th, I wrote a check to the US Treasury for $288,000 for quarterly taxes. You know what my “stimulus” check was? Zero. Nada. Zilch.  The question I have is this: Who is stimulating the economy? Me, the guy who has provided 14 people good paying jobs with a flourishing business? Or, the single mother sitting at home pregnant with her fourth child waiting for her next welfare check? Obviously, government feels the latter is the economic stimulus of this country.

The fact is, if I deducted (Read: Stole) 50% of your paycheck you’d quit  and you wouldn’t work here. I mean, why should you? That’s nuts. Who wants to get rewarded only 50% of their hard work? Well, I agree which is why your job is in jeopardy. Here is what many of you don’t understand: to stimulate the economy you need to stimulate what runs the economy.

Had suddenly the government mandated to me that I didn’t need to pay taxes, guess what? Instead of depositing that $288,000 into the Washington black-hole, I would have spent it, hired more employees, and generated substantial economic growth. My employees would have enjoyed the wealth of that tax cut in the form of promotions and better salaries. But you can forget it now.

When you have a comatose man on the verge of death, you don’t defibrillate and shock his thumb thinking that will bring him back to life, do you? Or, do you defibrillate his heart? Business is at the heart of America and always has been. To restart it, you must stimulate it, not kill it. Suddenly, the power brokers in Washington believe the poor of America are the essential drivers of the American economic engine. Nothing could be further from the truth and this is the type of change you can keep.

So where am I going with all this? It’s quite simple. If any new taxes are levied on me, or my company, my reaction will be swift and simple. I fire you. I fire your co-workers. You can then plead with the government to pay for your mortgage, your SUV, and your child’s future. Frankly, it isn’t my problem any more. Then, I will close this company down, move to another country, and retire.

You see, I’m done. I’m done with a country that penalizes the productive and gives to the unproductive. My motivation to work and to provide jobs will be destroyed, and with it, will be my citizenship. So, if you lose your job, it won’t be at the hands of the economy; it will be at the hands of a political hurricane that swept through this country, steamrolled the constitution, and will have changed its landscape forever. If that happens, you can find me sitting on a beach, retired, and with no employees to worry about…. Signed, THE BOSS

Predictions of 2009 movement towards socialistic formations

Sorry I have been pre-occupied with other things going on in my life to worry about what is going on in Washington DC since it appears that BHO will get what he wants and we will just have to hope that it work out for the best.

 

As someone that believes in "The Creator" since believing in Darwinism, the Big Bang, and Atheism is just plain silly due to the amount of "suspension of disbelief" necessary to accept these theories, I am prepared to allow the Divinity His way with the history of our world. It is the one thing that prevents me from really being depressed over how our country has moved from a force for good towards a whimper for "the so-so."

 

BHO and his SMDC will only be allowed to go so far before the citizenry understands that trading freedoms for government intervention in all aspects of their lives is not worth the value received. It may take some time, and it may not be reversible, but it will happen unless one event occurs: the majority of the American voting public is living off the backs of the wealthier minority. If or when this occurs, the country will slow sink into socialism and finally 3rd world status since it can only sustain an innovative and vibrant economy when everyone is working and carrying their share of the financial burdens demanded of a capitalistic-based economy.

 

No socialistic (the economic infrastructure) of Fascism, Communism, and Marxism (the political part of the equation) has survived without major political change whereby the personal freedoms of those being governed are subordinated to the best interest of the government. There will be small factions of resistance to these changes, but it will be the financial crisis that finally puts a nail in the coffin of the American dream.

 

Unions will continue to demand their "unsustainable" wage and benefit profiles especially the government employees unions that will bankrupt state after state, municipality after municipality, and city after city with their every increasing piece of the taxpayer treasury. When the local and state governments are over whelmed, they will seek increasing federal participation (with strings attached of course) to the point where those in Kansas will be paying for the mistakes in California and New York.

 

Liberal welfare programs will continue to addict the non-tax paying portion of the population to a point of demanding more and more government payments from a dwindling tax-paying minority to where innovation, entrepreneurship, and growth are stopped as is the case in all socialistic-oriented economies. Those that are working finally realize that it's not worth the effort to be innovative when the government is going to take 70-80% to pay for those that just vote for their welfare and transfer payments. Once this transformation takes place, the federal government has to take over and become "the state." Whether the government becomes Fascist, Communistic, or Marxist is simply a matter of who is power when the population finally gives up.

 

Here's the most likely outcome: if liberals are in power at "tipping point", then the government is very likely to become a form of Communism-light based on atheism, and total government control in the form of centralized planning. If conservatives are in power at TP (tipping point), then the government will most likely become Fascist since Fascism combines the government with big business to run the state. Finally, a combination of the two would likely produce a more Marxist form of government that takes the central planning of Communism with the elevation of the state to the only political entity while allowing some personal freedoms in religion and thinking.

 

Just some thoughts to begin your 2009 with during this period of major changes. Watch for two things that are already beginning to occur: the removal of the secret ballot in unionization events, and the increase spending of the federal government to cover all areas of public and personal life. These 2 events will signal the move towards the collapse of the capitalistic, free-market operation of the US economy, a prolonged recession into 2010-2011, and an increased demand for federal government intervention in every increasing areas of what was once private matters.

Bush-43 starts it and BHO will complete it.

Rule of law under the Bush Administration has hit a new low right before he leaves town with his mistakes and miscalculations. Bush-43 using funds allocated by the 110th Congress for other failed bail-out purposes to give GM and Chrysler over $17 Billion USD so he could ride out of town without the jeers of forcing the Big-3 into bankruptcies. This will probably be one of his biggest mistakes since it will only delay their failure, not prevent it. It is window dressing, pure and simple.

 

Now don't get me wrong, I think the one thing that the Bush-43 Administration can take credit for is the fact that we have gone over 7 years without a major attack on US soil. History may say that this achievement was enough, but I say that Bush-43 has been a failure in most other areas as a Republican or conservative.

 

Under his administration and the Republican Congress from 2001-2007, the government has grown considerably in both reach and size. The debt has exploded, and on his way out of town, Bush-43 has almost entirely turned the USA into a centrally planned socialistic leaning entity. Now if Bush-43 was going into his 2nd term this may be undone by Bush-43, but now that he is turning it over to a very liberal, socialistic leaning BHO, Bush-43 will have to take the hit that he started the turn towards socialism leaving the completion of this transformation to the BHO administration and SMDC Congress.

 

This final act of overriding the Congress in giving the Big-3 well the Big-2 since Ford opted out of the bail-out monies (more on this in another post) has put Bush-43 into a category all by himself. More than any other President before him, Bush-43 has moved the country towards a form of big government socialism. Even BHO may be hard pressed to beat what Bush-43 has accomplished under the guise of "saving the country" from a depression.

 

Governments through time have always used this deception of saving someone from something to gain and hold control over their citizens. If the government can do it slowly and covertly enough, the citizenry is lulled into a sense of security and wakes up too late to reverse the changes.

 

The perfect storm of a Republican administration setting up the principles of big government central control under the guise of saving us from another Great Depression, and then turning over these new powers to an overt liberal democratic government completes the hurricane scenario. The fault lies with the Bush-43 administration since conservative/Republicans are suppose to oppose such actions and power transfers. We know that liberal/Democrats want this, but could not have come up with a better way to implement such a power grab. It was handed to them on the proverbial silver plater by the Bush-43 administration.

 

Such a sad state of affairs for the once great USA.

 

The BHO green agenda jumps forward

The meeting between BHO and the Mean Green Machine was too important an event to ingore. No, I am not writing about BHO getting together with the Green Bay Packers, but none other then the ex-VP Al Gore. This meeting which was almost treated as a side note by most of the main stream media took place last Tuesday, Dec. 9, 2008, on issues of the environment, alternative energy sources, and BHO's green agenda.

Now as I indicated in October before the election was even done that if BHO was elected he would implement 10 agenda items of his very liberal left upbringing and education. Please review this list and look specifically at #10.

The radical left of the environmentalists that are basically communists in green clothing are going to get their wishes with this alliance between BHO and AG, and what a ton of wasted tax money and lackluster economy it is going to leave in its wake.

I warned you, and now I can only suggest that you get your money and resources out of this country as soon as you can. Go to the Bahamas, Grand Caymans, Isle of Man, or even Switzerland. Just get it out of the clutches of the green communists that are going to destroy this country's economy with their green regulations and policies.

The first action will be the ratification of the Kyoto and Montreal Protocols of the UN by the now very liberal US Senate. This step alone will put such limitations on the US economy that by the end of the first BHO term, the US will still be in a severe recession.

See other countries have ratified the Kyoto and Montreal Protocols, but none of the real polluters are even on the need to do so. China and India are exempted due to their "developing status." The purpose of the Kyoto and Montreal Protocols is to hamstring the big economies to bring them down to the size and power of the norm. Within 2 terms of BHO's administration, he will preside over the complete metamorphosis of the USA into the the USSA.

The BHO agenda is beginning to take shape as I predicted.

The first steps towards socialism are being heard!

OK, finally something worth writing about on the blog...

 

I told you I would inform you when the state of the Union was heading towards a more socialistic formation, and before BHO has even taken office, the ugly head of government intrusion into private industry (the hallmark of creeping socialism) has reared its head.

 

In Illinois, the state government has decided to suspend all business with Bank of America because it supposedly withdrew a small business credit funding and the employees of this small business whom appear from all news programs to be non-English speaking immigrants with mortgage loans they can't afford staged a take-over of the business' office building. The Governor of Illinois, the very liberal Rod Blagojevich, has informed BOA that they will lose all Illinois state government relationships.

 

Now this may sound very compassionate and nice, but don't get misled: this is the new socialistic bent of government that is now going to use its power, control and assets to force social engineering which is the very tip of the iceberg of socialistic formations. Government that intrudes into the operation of private company capital formation and usage is the very definition of socialism.

 

Now all the liberal Congress people are getting on the bandwagon:

 

Rep. Jan Schakowsky, an Illinois Democrat, called it the start of a movement. "This story has resonated around the world," she said.

 

Rep. Schakowsky's comments are even more indicative of how the liberals are going to move towards the far left and all conservatives should ensure that they don't hide their heads in the sand as it happens. Engage those that believe that this is the right thing to accomplish. Don't be afraid speaking your mind.

 

This act by the Illinois governor should send a chill down the spine of every capitalistic, free-market citizen. The step is right down the line of what I warned you about the BHO and his SMDC in that they would slow, but very surely move towards the tenants of socialism. It is the beginning of the move from the USA towards the USSA.

 

Just watch the small steps, folks. They are happening now in front of our very nose.

 

 

Is Detroit "Too Big To Fail?" Nope! It's Time.

In every society it is necessary to "take the medicine" for past mistakes and accept the consequences of our actions or inactions. I have been getting tons of emails, but few comments since it appears that many are afraid of posting to a moderated website, but that's the way it goes.

 

The email has been very negative of my stance of letting the Big-3 auto makers fail, but what the emailers do not seem to understand is that $25, $50, or even $100 Billion USD in bail-out to Detroit is NOT going to solve the problem. It is only going to put off the day of reckoning. The model of Detroit is FAILED. The blame is too numerous to list, but I will try:

 

1. Government for not allowing management and labor to form partnerships. That's right, its the government that prevents organized labor from working with management.
2. Management in that they negotiated labor contracts that added $1000s to each car that they make to where the average hourly rate of Detroit is $75 to the US-based Toyota, NIssan, and other non-Detroit based US car makers' $48 hourly rate. Every car Detroit makes costs them $27/hour. Impossible to maintain such a business model.
3. The UAW (United Auto Workers) union that prevents Detroit from being competitive all in the name of protecting "good US jobs." In the end, it will be the UAW that kills the golden goose.
4. The Big-3 auto maker shareholders that did not DEMAND Detroit reorganize and retool for the smaller, more fuel efficient products.
5. Finally, the consumer that did not DEMAND Detroit make cars they wanted. Buy American, but buy smart American should have been the US consumers' demand of Detroit.

 

So we all have something to shoulder when it comes to Detroit's current morass, but just propping them up with more money is NOT going to solve the problem. We have to take our medicine, and the longer we forestall the day of reckoning, the worse its going to be when it finally happens.

 

Is Detroit "too big to fail" I have heard that for the airlines, the banks, Wall Street, and now the auto makers. It is just a cry of the outdated, the outmoded, the out-maneuvered, and the non-competitive companies called the Big-3 auto makers along with their very unnecessary UAW.

 

Keeping the Big-3 and the UAW alive is a classic case of "Weekend at Bernie's." Rent the movie if you don't understand the reference.

 

 

Reasons why Detroit should be let to fail

Why is letting the Big-3 auto makers go under is the best for the USA? It is the best for the following reasons:

 

1. Productivity: Detroit was financially tooled when Detroit was the only game in town, and its contracts and operations prohibit production improvements
2. Progress: the "buggy whip" industry as the turn of the last century probably had its reasons why it should not be let to go under, but the livery industry had run its course and needed to be replaced. The "old style" auto industry in the US is in the same condition.
3. De-unionization: the US had progressed beyond the need for big unions. Laws now protect the American worker and big union simply drive US companies into non-competitiveness. Name one highly unionized US industry that is competitive and healthy today.
4. Free-market protection: the term "too-big-too-fail" has now replaced innovation and competitiveness. With the ESA 2008 and the bail-out of Wall Street came the socialization of American big business.
5. Protection of manufacturing: in reality the Big-3 auto manufacturers and their unions have stalled manufacturing innovations and could kill it completely. Detroit needs to be re-born, not propped-up.

 

In all failures and bankruptcies, resources of all types move from improper utilization to optimal utilization. That is the fundamental tenant of capitalism. Either we believe in capitalism or we don't. We believe that free-markets solve their problems or we don't. When you mix government intervention with free-markets, you hamstring the markets and everything breaks down.

 

Oh, you mean like now? The markets are breaking down because the government is sticking its fingers into the process, changing the rules, and making decisions that capital should make. Think about it? Would you trust your money to someone that has a vested interest in its growth and application or a disinterested third party driven by political an self-interest?

 

Right, you make the decision, and now you understand why bailing out even the Big-3 auto makers will be only worse for the future of the US auto industry. Now is the time to let them go into history and let smaller, more innovative and competitive replacements take their place.

 

However, with the Democrats in bed with the Big Unions, don't count on it. They will bail them out after January 20, 2009, and more of your tax money will go to buy off union support.

Will BHO govern from the center? When pigs fly!

So many Republican pundits (K. Rove, N. Gingrich, G. Beck, etc) are saying that BHO will have to govern from the central; that the economy will not allow BHO to move left; that if he is going to consolidate his power, he must move to the center.

Well, Bull crap!

I called the election right on the money on Oct. 2, 2008 by saying that BHO would win in a landslide with near 400 electoral votes (he got 370), and he would get an SMDC (super-majority Democratic Congress), and I am telling you right now that BHO will NOT govern from the center. He will be the one that moves left and tries to pull the country with him. He is running on pure power-trip right now and with the Senate races going in favor of the Dems to give them a 58-59 majority, they will not need Lieberman whom they will jettison very quickly by stripping him of his Chairmanship of the very important Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs committee. This committee is central to the war on terror, and this committee chairmanship will be given to a Democrat that supported BHO.

BHO is the most liberal Senator in the US Senate, and he got elected with the help of the most radical leftist organizations in the country: Moveon.org, Media Matters, the Daily Kos, ACORN, and the ACLU. I am not even going to mention the Socialist Democrats of America, and the American Communist party. Throw in all the big unions (AFL-CIO, NEA, Teamsters, GovWorkers, etc), and you have a cauldron of leftist, socialist, and radical supporters that are already demanding payback. Go see each one of this organization's websites and see what they are wanting from BHO and his soon-to-be SMDC.

Govern from the center? Yea right. A tiger doesn't change his stripes that easily. Watch how quickly he implements his agenda using both executive fiat and Congressional legislation.

Liberals/Dems stand up and be counted!

The ultimate result of socialism is always the financial, cultural, and educational democratization of the society since socialism begins by taking from those that have either because they have risked or inherited the resources to those that do not have because they have NOT risked or inherited the resources.

 

In a democracy where there exists "1 person 1 vote", the trend by politicians to get elected is to institute class warfare because those that have not largely out-number those that have and this leads to the politician's election to power. The rich try to level the playing field via influence purchasing by contribution or media support, but sooner or later, the politician gets elected on a populist agenda like BHO and now has to begin the payback.

 

This is exactly where the USA finds itself today. BHO has made over $2.5 Trillion USD in promises for health care, education, energy, and just plain-old income redistribution rebates and credits. Regardless that many Republicans and smart Democrats are saying that BHO, due to the current crisis, will not be able to implement these promises and will have to govern from the central, BHO has spent too many years learning how to hide his true socialistic beliefs (again, read Saul Alinksky's "Rulebook for Radicals") to be denied its flowering now that he has achieved the ultimate seat of power.

 

BHO will move forward on this agenda that I have delineated in this blog more than once. He will almost immediately begin the process of filling the over 350 empty federal court judgeships to ensure a legacy of liberal jurist activism and to aid in the redistribution via legal fiat he discussed in many speeches and writings.

 

If you are a liberal/Democrat and buy into BHO's future for America, be intellectually honest to come out be counted as a socialist. Don't live a lie, don't hide in the shadows, don't sneak around fearful of the light. Be brave, courageous, and forthright. Stand up for your beliefs regardless of who might object.

 

Be the open and professed socialist your passion demands of you else you risk becoming the weak, impotent radical that many silent sideliners become by not voicing their beliefs in the open.

 

Scream: "I AM A SOCIALIST, AND I AM NOT ASHAMED OF IT OR MY SOCIALIST PRESIDENT-ELECT, BHO!"

 

Trust me, you will feel much better, and so will we.

 

Why liberal/Dems fear socialism itself, part 2

So why do liberal/Democrats really fear socialism and/or the label of being socialistic?

 

Knowing that socialism severely limits or eradicates the human motivation to succeed or achieve, the implementation of socialistic principles in a country that is currently capitalistic begins the slow process of financial democratization.

 

Financial democratization is the process of raising the lower income earners while reducing or eliminating the higher income earners. In other words, there are no truly extremely poor since the government hands-out or highly subsidizes everything needed to live such as housing, food, medical care, education, and vocational directions via their one major tools for social re-engineering:

 

       Taxation and/or fiscal policy

 

By controlling the effective tax rate and fiscal policy legislation, socialistic governments redistribute income and resources from producers towards consumers until the producers, lacking the motivation to produce for which no profit exists, begin to reduce their applied energies, productivity falls, and the government must enact more and more interventionist policies to maintain the level of production necessary to keep the financial bottom from falling back to the poverty levels.

 

This is currently happening in both the UK and Canada as the rate of taxation for nationalized  health care alone with rising and causing more and more discontent from the remaining producers in those countries. If you Google the political referendums in these countries' recent elections, you will see that rising costs of the nationalized health care systems, the lack of service performance from these nationalized health care systems, and the need to raise taxes to pay for this dwindling medical system productivity are at the top of the political discussions.

 

Socialism for those that already rich is not as fearful as those that are trying to achieve a higher level of affability. That is why the Hollywood crowd, the New York talk show and fashion crowd, the Miami real estate crowd, and the wealthy financiers all backed BHO.

 

By moving towards socialism now that they have arrived, they can ensure that what they have will not be taken away since income redistribution affects future income streams and not current amassed wealth.

 

It is only in the more totalitarian forms of socialism: communism, Bolshevism, and fascism where historical wealth is nationalized as well as future income streams. The "beautiful people" feel they don't have to fear loss of accumulated wealth and this will afford them a much better life style than the socialized medium that results from implementation of their espoused political beliefs.

 

Remember, socialism means financial and cultural stagnation: those that have keep, and those that don't have stand pat.

 

 

Why liberal/Dems fear socialism itself, part 1

To continue the thread on why there is so much fear of socialism and/or the socialist label by the liberal/Democrats, you have to truly understand what socialism means to those that espouse its implementation.

 

First, the best way to understand socialism is to study what happens when a country becomes socialistic. Fortunately we have many examples in the European community such as Denmark, Sweden, and Finland that have moved completely socialistic, and partially socialized countries such as the UK, France, and Germany.

 

Let's investigate the Scandinavian countries as a path towards understanding the pathology of socialism. Having visited all three countries several times, I can give you first hand experiences along with precursory perspectives about what has happened in these countries. These three countries will be a bit different from the other three less mature socialist states in that the Scandinavian countries began as monarchies and then moved towards socialist states while the UK, France, and Germany began as democracies before crawling toward socialism.

 

I will simplify our investigations by asking 3 self-evident questions about the mature socialist countries:

1. What is the current, effective tax rate of the country?

2. What major role in the world do these country maintain?

3. What major human advances have come from these countries?

In all 3 cases, the answers can be discovered via a short Google exercise:

 

       HIGH, 3rd World, and None

 

The reason is self-evident: socialism removes most of the motivation for individual achievement since what a person or company creates is appropriated by the government and redistributed to either itself or to others not involved in the initial creation process. Without such motivation individuals or organizations lack the day by day passion to create or innovate: survival is just good enough and satisfactory.

 

Finally, I will grant that in these mature socialistic countries there is little extreme poverty, but there is also little extreme achievement or advancement of the human condition. The conclusion can be that:

 

      Socialism brings contented stagnation.

 

Why expend energy to innovate or achieve if there is little to show for such expenditure?

Why do US liberal fear the socialist label?

After reading many blogs, news items, and commentaries about this new USA that is beginning to emerge, I have come to an odd sensation:

 

       Why are Liberal/Democrats so fearful of being labeled "socialist?"

 

Many bloggers on the left are expending an extremely enormous amount of energy in an attempt to prove that their new President-elect or they are not socialistic, their agenda is not socialistic, etc. Why not be intellectually honest and just admit that BHO is a socialist and that their agenda is socialist?

 

• They want more government control and intervention.
• They want income redistribution.
• They want government to nationalize health care.
• They want to nationalize education.
• They want to completely regulate our nationalized financial systems.
• They want to rearrange the political landscape via social engineering.
• They want judicial activism,

and the list goes on.

 

So if these goals are so noble and necessary, why all the subterfuge and obfuscation about the fact that these are socialist goals? Why are the liberal/Democrats so afraid of being labeled as socialists?

 

It would appear that they would want to stand up for their beliefs and shout to the world that they are socialists and believe that this agenda and political formation is the best future for the USA.

 

The answer is simple: they also fear what socialism is and what it inevitably blossoms into upon full maturity.

 

BHO in his own words from speeches, books, and sermons has shown that he wants the old USA to be "thrown down" (using the walls of Jericho as an analogy) and a new USA (change we need) to rise from the ashes.

Some of the more interesting ideas are:

1. Forced work from adolescents and teenagers. Sounds like slavery to me?
2. Forced employer participation in national health care or pay fine
3. Greatly expanded earned income credit - "share the wealth"
4. $2B USD to terrorist countries for "education"
5. Illegal aliens granted unconditional amnesty
6. Redefinition of marriage to include homosexual marriages
7. Expand "thought crimes" legislation to include bias-motivation prosecution

and so many others. Go read for yourself. The USSA is underway. Hey, I'm a poet and don't know it. ;-)

BHO labeled socialist way back in 2000 by DSA

Again, these are not my words, but words of the people that know BHO the best. I guess if you can't believe the Chicago Democratic Socialists of America who can you believe?

BHO is a socialsit in his own words!

Many people including some in my other family are saying that BHO is liberal not socialistic; however, I have to directly and completely disagree with this assertion since it lacks any basis in truth. Using the words of BHO himself, he declares his socialistic agenda for when he might become President: an event which he has now accomplished.

"The Scripture tells us that when Joshua and the Israelites arrived at the gates of Jericho, they could not enter. The walls of the city were too steep for any one person to climb; too strong to be taken down with brute force. And so they sat for days, unable to pass on through.

But God had a plan for his people. He told them to stand together and march together around the city, and on the seventh day he told them that when they heard the sound of the ram’s horn, they should speak with one voice. And at the chosen hour, when the horn sounded and a chorus of voices cried out together, the mighty walls of Jericho came tumbling down.

There are many lessons to take from this passage, just as there are many lessons to take from this day, just as there are many memories that fill the space of this church. As I was thinking about which ones we need to remember at this hour, my mind went back to the very beginning of the modern Civil Rights Era.

Because before Memphis and the mountaintop; before the bridge in Selma and the march on Washington; before Birmingham and the beatings; the fire hoses and the loss of those four little girls; before there was King the icon and his magnificent dream, there was King the young preacher and a people who found themselves suffering under the yoke of oppression.

And on the eve of the bus boycotts in Montgomery, at a time when many were still doubtful about the possibilities of change, a time when those in the black community mistrusted themselves, and at times mistrusted each other, King inspired with words not of anger, but of an urgency that still speaks to us today:

“Unity is the great need of the hour” is what King said. Unity is how we shall overcome.

What Dr. King understood is that if just one person chose to walk instead of ride the bus, those walls of oppression would not be moved. But maybe if a few more walked, the foundation might start to shake. If a few more women were willing to do what Rosa Parks had done, maybe the cracks would start to show. If teenagers took freedom rides from North to South, maybe a few bricks would come loose. Maybe if white folks marched because they had come to understand that their freedom too was at stake in the impending battle, the wall would begin to sway.

And if enough Americans were awakened to the injustice; if they joined together, North and South, rich and poor, Christian and Jew, then perhaps that wall would come tumbling down, and justice would flow like water, and righteousness like a mighty stream.

Unity is the great need of the hour - the great need of this hour. Not because it sounds pleasant or because it makes us feel good, but because it’s the only way we can overcome the essential deficit that exists in this country.

I’m not talking about a budget deficit. I’m not talking about a trade deficit. I’m not talking about a deficit of good ideas or new plans.

I’m talking about a moral deficit. I’m talking about an empathy deficit. I’m taking about an inability to recognize ourselves in one another; to understand that we are our brother’s keeper; we are our sister’s keeper; that, in the words of Dr. King, we are all tied together in a single garment of destiny.

We have an empathy deficit when we’re still sending our children down corridors of shame - schools in the forgotten corners of America where the color of your skin still affects the content of your education.

We have a deficit when CEOs are making more in ten minutes than some workers make in ten months; when families lose their homes so that lenders make a profit; when mothers can’t afford a doctor when their children get sick.

We have a deficit in this country when there is Scooter Libby justice for some and Jena justice for others; when our children see nooses hanging from a schoolyard tree today, in the present, in the twenty-first century.

We have a deficit when homeless veterans sleep on the streets of our cities; when innocents are slaughtered in the deserts of Darfur; when young Americans serve tour after tour of duty in a war that should’ve never been authorized and never been waged.

And we have a deficit when it takes a breach in our levees to reveal a breach in our compassion; when it takes a terrible storm to reveal the hungry that God calls on us to feed; the sick He calls on us to care for; the least of these He commands that we treat as our own.

So we have a deficit to close. We have walls - barriers to justice and equality - that must come down. And to do this, we know that unity is the great need of this hour.

Unfortunately, all too often when we talk about unity in this country, we’ve come to believe that it can be purchased on the cheap. We’ve come to believe that racial reconciliation can come easily - that it’s just a matter of a few ignorant people trapped in the prejudices of the past, and that if the demagogues and those who exploit our racial divisions will simply go away, then all our problems would be solved.

All too often, we seek to ignore the profound institutional barriers that stand in the way of ensuring opportunity for all children, or decent jobs for all people, or health care for those who are sick. We long for unity, but are unwilling to pay the price.

But of course, true unity cannot be so easily won. It starts with a change in attitudes - a broadening of our minds, and a broadening of our hearts.

It’s not easy to stand in somebody else’s shoes. It’s not easy to see past our differences. We’ve all encountered this in our own lives. But what makes it even more difficult is that we have a politics in this country that seeks to drive us apart - that puts up walls between us.

We are told that those who differ from us on a few things are different from us on all things; that our problems are the fault of those who don’t think like us or look like us or come from where we do. The welfare queen is taking our tax money. The immigrant is taking our jobs. The believer condemns the non-believer as immoral, and the non-believer chides the believer as intolerant.

For most of this country’s history, we in the African-American community have been at the receiving end of man’s inhumanity to man. And all of us understand intimately the insidious role that race still sometimes plays - on the job, in the schools, in our health care system, and in our criminal justice system.

And yet, if we are honest with ourselves, we must admit that none of our hands are entirely clean. If we’re honest with ourselves, we’ll acknowledge that our own community has not always been true to King’s vision of a beloved community.

We have scorned our gay brothers and sisters instead of embracing them. The scourge of anti-Semitism has, at times, revealed itself in our community. For too long, some of us have seen immigrants as competitors for jobs instead of companions in the fight for opportunity.

Every day, our politics fuels and exploits this kind of division across all races and regions; across gender and party. It is played out on television. It is sensationalized by the media. And last week, it even crept into the campaign for President, with charges and counter-charges that served to obscure the issues instead of illuminating the critical choices we face as a nation.

So let us say that on this day of all days, each of us carries with us the task of changing our hearts and minds. The division, the stereotypes, the scape-goating, the ease with which we blame our plight on others - all of this distracts us from the common challenges we face - war and poverty; injustice and inequality.

We can no longer afford to build ourselves up by tearing someone else down. We can no longer afford to traffic in lies or fear or hate. It is the poison that we must purge from our politics; the wall that we must tear down before the hour grows too late.

Because if Dr. King could love his jailor; if he could call on the faithful who once sat where you do to forgive those who set dogs and fire hoses upon them, then surely we can look past what divides us in our time, and bind up our wounds, and erase the empathy deficit that exists in our hearts.

But if changing our hearts and minds is the first critical step, we cannot stop there. It is not enough to bemoan the plight of poor children in this country and remain unwilling to push our elected officials to provide the resources to fix our schools. It is not enough to decry the disparities of health care and yet allow the insurance companies and the drug companies to block much-needed reforms. It is not enough for us to abhor the costs of a misguided war, and yet allow ourselves to be driven by a politics of fear that sees the threat of attack as way to scare up votes instead of a call to come together around a common effort.

The Scripture tells us that we are judged not just by word, but by deed. And if we are to truly bring about the unity that is so crucial in this time, we must find it within ourselves to act on what we know; to understand that living up to this country’s ideals and its possibilities will require great effort and resources; sacrifice and stamina.

And that is what is at stake in the great political debate we are having today. The changes that are needed are not just a matter of tinkering at the edges, and they will not come if politicians simply tell us what we want to hear. All of us will be called upon to make some sacrifice. None of us will be exempt from responsibility. We will have to fight to fix our schools, but we will also have to challenge ourselves to be better parents. We will have to confront the biases in our criminal justice system, but we will also have to acknowledge the deep-seated violence that still resides in our own communities and marshal the will to break its grip.

That is how we will bring about the change we seek. That is how Dr. King led this country through the wilderness. He did it with words - words that he spoke not just to the children of slaves, but the children of slave owners. Words that inspired not just black but also white; not just the Christian but the Jew; not just the Southerner but also the Northerner.

He led with words, but he also led with deeds. He also led by example. He led by marching and going to jail and suffering threats and being away from his family. He led by taking a stand against a war, knowing full well that it would diminish his popularity. He led by challenging our economic structures, understanding that it would cause discomfort. Dr. King understood that unity cannot be won on the cheap; that we would have to earn it through great effort and determination.

That is the unity - the hard-earned unity - that we need right now. It is that effort, and that determination, that can transform blind optimism into hope - the hope to imagine, and work for, and fight for what seemed impossible before.

The stories that give me such hope don’t happen in the spotlight. They don’t happen on the presidential stage. They happen in the quiet corners of our lives. They happen in the moments we least expect. Let me give you an example of one of those stories.

There is a young, twenty-three year old white woman named Ashley Baia who organizes for our campaign in Florence, South Carolina. She’s been working to organize a mostly African-American community since the beginning of this campaign, and the other day she was at a roundtable discussion where everyone went around telling their story and why they were there.

And Ashley said that when she was nine years old, her mother got cancer. And because she had to miss days of work, she was let go and lost her health care. They had to file for bankruptcy, and that’s when Ashley decided that she had to do something to help her mom.

She knew that food was one of their most expensive costs, and so Ashley convinced her mother that what she really liked and really wanted to eat more than anything else was mustard and relish sandwiches. Because that was the cheapest way to eat.

She did this for a year until her mom got better, and she told everyone at the roundtable that the reason she joined our campaign was so that she could help the millions of other children in the country who want and need to help their parents too.

So Ashley finishes her story and then goes around the room and asks everyone else why they’re supporting the campaign. They all have different stories and reasons. Many bring up a specific issue. And finally they come to this elderly black man who’s been sitting there quietly the entire time. And Ashley asks him why he’s there. And he does not bring up a specific issue. He does not say health care or the economy. He does not say education or the war. He does not say that he was there because of Barack Obama. He simply says to everyone in the room, “I am here because of Ashley.”

By itself, that single moment of recognition between that young white girl and that old black man is not enough. It is not enough to give health care to the sick, or jobs to the jobless, or education to our children.

But it is where we begin. It is why the walls in that room began to crack and shake.

And if they can shake in that room, they can shake in Atlanta.

And if they can shake in Atlanta, they can shake in Georgia.

And if they can shake in Georgia, they can shake all across America. And if enough of our voices join together; we can bring those walls tumbling down. The walls of Jericho can finally come tumbling down. That is our hope - but only if we pray together, and work together, and march together.

Brothers and sisters, we cannot walk alone.

In the struggle for peace and justice, we cannot walk alone.

In the struggle for opportunity and equality, we cannot walk alone

In the struggle to heal this nation and repair this world, we cannot walk alone.

So I ask you to walk with me, and march with me, and join your voice with mine, and together we will sing the song that tears down the walls that divide us, and lift up an America that is truly indivisible, with liberty, and justice, for all. May God bless the memory of the great pastor of this church, and may God bless the United States of America."

Cut through all the "sugar coating" and you will see that all the ills of the world come from rich, white men and the companies they run. Interesting, are these the same companies that provide thousands of good paying jobs to Americans? Interesting.

These are not my words, but his directly as he spoke them from the pulpit of an Atlanta, GA church. Read them yourself and see how he wants to take this country into socialism to right previous wrongs, redistribute wealth from rich to others, have largely increased government intervention into every aspect of our lives.

IN HIS OWN WORDS, his socialistic agenda is clear and beyond question.

My daughter-in-law continued with this comparison of liberalism vs. socialism:

My response to her was:

Unfortunately you are confusing socialism with its more totalitarian forms of communism and fascism. Socialism is none of the items you have listed as its characteristics, but are every one the characteristics of Bolshevism and Nazism (without the limitation of rejavascript:void(0)ligion).

All of the European style socialistic countries are multi-party, allow free speech by constitutional declaration, allows private enterprise, but severely taxes its profits, allows personal choices in education, career and religion.

While taxation is higher in these socialistic countries, none of them are 100%.

Obama is a socialist simply because of his writings and how he feels (according to both his books) that the government has a duty to right the wrongs of who he calls the disadvantaged and under-privileged. His own writings in his book "The Audacity of Hope" show that his mentors are socialistic and anti-capitalistic (see Saul Alinsky's "Rulebook for Radicals"). He is socialistic by his own words.
