It's 2009 and America still CAN'T be FIXED!

Happy New Year, America. During my holiday hiatus, I was constantly looking for things that would make me alter my contention that American CAN'T be fixed back to my original contention that it indeed could pull itself out of the direction into which the nation has thrust itself.

 

Sadly, I only found more indications that America is on a self-destruction journey from which I believe the public character no longer exists to alter the unfortunate outcome. Let me list of these indications that I saw during the holiday season:

 

1. The fight over Christmas is probably the best indication that we have become, as Mr. Philip K. Howard called us, a "nation of enemies."
2. The Al Franken win of the MN Senate seat after one of the most corrupted ballot counting process in recent memory even superseding the infamous 2000 Bush-Gore Presidential election.
3. The ongoing IL governor/US Senate choice to replace BHO is destined to be discussed in political science seminars for decades.
4. The Bernie Madoff $50 Billion USD Ponzi scheme where he keep it going for now what appears to be decades while snowing all the regulatory agencies in his wake.
5. The Israeli-Hamas conflict that went into actual war footing over this past weekend with the world condemning of Israel for their attack while Israel is trying to stop the missile attacks from Gaza while the US government remains eerily quiet in supporting Israel.
6. Gov. Bill Richardson's dropping off the BHO cabinet nominee due to grand jury indictments.
7. The stimulus package vultures have begun to circle trying to get their piece of the now $1 Trillion USD package reportedly being defined in the halls of Congress.
8. CA Gov and AG have both announced they are working to overturn the 3 democratic vote on disallowing gay marriages in CA. The rule of law no longer means anything.
9. US Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid says he has "legal authority" to bar Burris from taking the contested IL Senate seat while allowing the Al Franken MN Senate seat abortion to produce Senator Franken.
10. Democratic strategist James Carville now predicted a streak of Democratic political scandals for 2009.

 

These were just the top news items that seemed to show that America is moving down its road of self-destruction and lack of moral character. This process will pick up speed as the "normal citizen" soon realizes that the main result of this journey is the "Death of the American Dream" which I will blog about in my next post.
