BHO proposing the New New Deal

BHO is now proposing a work force of 2 million Americans to fix the infrastructure of this country because "if we can spend $10 Billion a month in Iraq, we can spend some of that money here in the US.."

This is exactly what FDR proposed in his 1933 "New Deal" where he put the out-of-work American workers into gangs that worked on public works projects. Now it appears that BHO is walking right down the road that was plowed by FDR.

What many people don't remember, of course not since it's history and we don't teach history in schools today, is that in the late 1920's the US went through a big housing bubble just like we went through over the past 3-5 years.

Google the Florida housing bubble in 1925 for details.

Now we have some protections in place to help prevent a protracted Depression, but if you think that housing which caused this problem (actually it was the government intervention in the lending standards, but we have discussed that already) is not going to be solution, you don't understand economics. Housing will have correct itself before this financial crisis is over, and it will just take time.

BHO wants to help with government employment, additional hand-outs, and welfare tendencies. This is exactly what FDR did to elongate the 1929 stock market crash into the Great Depression.
