I have discussed why socialism is coming to the USA, but I now have to tell you why socialism is so insidious as a socio-economic organization structure:
Socialism takes away my right to fail!
I know that it may sound crazy, but think about it. How does socialism come to be the political formation of choice?
First, people are shocked out of their lethargy due to either a geophysical, geopolitical, or geofinancial crisis. They are told that they suffering by those in charge and that they need to allow the government to take care of them. Sound familiar? Sound current?
Second, the government offers to solve the current crisis and thus elevate their suffering, but they will have put up with an increased amount of government intervention/regulation/oversight in order to make sure the crisis will never happen again. Ah, again, sound familiar?
Third, once the government has gained control and the crisis has run its course, the now more powerful government and politico-class now bloated with new bureaucrats and underlings, the now newly-socialized are told that they must accept the new government intervention since doing otherwise would return them to the chaos of the recently-solved (or so they say it was solved by governmental action) crisis.
Finally, socialism becomes the "comfy slippers" while it does not allow for the ability of its governed to excel, it also does its best to prevent anyone from failing since failing points out that "we are not all created equal." The government helps those in trouble with their mortgages, bank deposits, jobs, housing...
Beginning to get the idea here?
Socialism takes away my right to fail and this is bad since we humans learn so much more from failure than we do by living in mediocrity which is the hallmark of a socialistic country. Don't believe me? Look around the world at the socialized countries: they are all 3rd world countries that many used to thriving, democracies.
I want my right to fail!
