So my first post today will be the prediction that one of the first steps that this new administration and Congress will take will be the re-enactment of what is now called the
FAIRNESS DOCTRINE
Senator Charles Schummer (NY-D) said even on the day the country was electing their first socialistic administration and Congress that he believes its time for this piece of regulation to make a come-back.
A close personal friend of BHO, Senator Dick Durbin (IL-D) said clearly that it was time for the Fairness Doctrine to reinstated.
Senator Diane Feinstein (CA-D) who heads the very powerful Senate Rules Committee also said that she feels its time for the Fairness Doctrine to return.
Now with all the power the Democrats and Far Left radicals are feeling with the election of BHO and a more Democratic Congress, this wrongly labeled and misunderstood piece of regulation will makes it comeback very quickly.
Basically the Fairness Doctrine will enforce government content control on radio and tv stations to the point where talk radio will be completely impractical since anyone can complain about the content of a station and have that station investigated by the FCC for "fairness in opinion exposure."
Now while the above "public servants" are directly this towards the wildly successful conservative talk radio phenomenon due to the failure of liberal talk radio (see Failure of Air America), there will be a LOUC (law of unintended consequences) to pay of such arrogance.
This regulation which will probably drive most talk radio off the air will drive it directly to a completely unregulated media: the Internet. The number of conservative talk radio programs will explode not diminish while all forms of talk radio, conservative and liberal, will be silenced. Remember: political swords are ALWAYS two-sided. What cuts conservatives will ultimately cut liberals as well.
Sound improbable? Can't wait to say: ITYS (i told you so) on this one.
Next, the 2nd major activity of the BHO and his Congress is coming up in the following post.
