Spitzer will NOT be charged in prostitution sting

The height of hypocrisy has been reached by the New York US Justice Department Attorneys Offices will NOT seek any criminal charges against former NY Governor Eliot Spitzer. Spitzer was charged with using his office to solicit prostitution and across state lines, a crime punishable by up to 5 years for each act under the 1910 Mann Act.

Spitzer came to fame as the NY Attorneys General who racked up many so called non-prosecuted settlements from big Wall Street firms and hedge/mutual funds for what many called "media-based trumped up charges."

He later used this so-called fame to gain the NY governors office and then was promptly engaged in political loss after loss by backing very unpopular legislation where he had to back off and reverse his direction. His finally demise was delivered when the young girl he used for his own sexual gratification, Temeka Lewis, was discovered via a federal wire tap project.

The voters of NY voted Spitzer in due to his law and order stance and promise of cleaning-up the corruption on Wall Street and elsewhere, and when he is caught doing the exact same thing he campaigned against, he is not prosecuted.

Double-standard? Probably. Surprised, no! He was a Democrat and protected by the media. Had it been a Republican (see Abramoff, Stevens, etc). It just shows that the media and even the government excuses Democrat bad behavior to the point where its expected and thus not news.

Interesting.
